As the daughter of teachers and an engineer to boot, Brinda Acharya was set for a corporate life with a 9-5 job, although she had a burning desire to try her hand at showbiz. Her passion was buoyed by the fact that she’d always done well on stage in school and college as a trained singer and dancer.

A few months into life in the corporate world, Brinda decided it was now or never and auditioned for a TV serial and was picked for a small role in Mahakali. She followed that up with a pivotal character in Shani, but then took a break, only to return to a corporate job. Little did Brinda know then that life was about to change around for her, when she was contacted by someone for a spot on a music video.

The meeting, though, turned out to be with medical practitioner-turned-filmmaker Dr Raghavendra BS, with whom she had a four-hour-long discussion that ended in her bagging a role in actor Nenapirali Prem’s milestone 25th film, Premam Poojyam.

The film is slated to release in theatres on November 12 and is said to be an intense love story spanning two decades, wherein all the lead actors, especially Prem, sport multiple looks. Brinda’s character too, which she remains tightlipped about, involved changes, for which she had to gain and loose weight, among others.

With only days to go for her big-screen debut, Brinda is excited for audiences to see what they are bringing to table and says that she could not have hoped for a better launchpad. All praise for director Raghavendra and her co-star Prem, she says that she loved playing her character and hopes that audiences will like it too. The actress adds that the story apart, the visuals and music of the film are major highlights that are likely to stay with audiences, much after they leave the movie hall.
