In every actor's life, there comes a movie that tests their limits and brings out a performance they never imagined possible. Sometimes that performance goes unnoticed, but often it is hailed and becomes a golden opportunity for the star. One such opportunity for Brie Larson was when she played Ma in Room. The film left many of us traumatized by its portrayal of forced captivity, but Larson's performance was so compelling that we couldn't look away. Now, there's exciting news for those who have yet to witness this incredible performance: Room is set to have a second round of streaming in India.

Room on Streaming

Room was released in 2015 and became one of the most discussed films of the year. Directed by Lenny Abrahamson, it earned Brie Larson an Oscar for Best Actress in 2016. The story follows a mother kidnapped and kept in captivity for years, but the twist is that she is in captivity with her son, who has never seen the outside world. The movie unfolds into a haunting tale and, to our collective shock, is based on a true story.

Room is now about to have a second round on the streaming circuit in India. According to the latest listings, the celebrated film is set to hit the Lionsgate Play app soon. While no release date has been announced, the streamer has releases planned throughout June, suggesting that Room will likely be available sometime in July. The wait is not long.

Brie Larson on Room

As per Deadline, Brie Larson said about Room, “I read the book in a day and could not put it down. I cried at so many points, particularly during the escape sequence, and felt so much anxiety. Although I was reading a hard copy, and it was obvious that there was still another half of the book left, I couldn’t imagine that it was going to keep going, that they were going to get out. I realized that I cared so much about them. I was so invested in them as these two characters. That was the beginning of it.”

Room stars Brie Larson alongside Jacob Tremblay, Sean Bridgers, Wendy Crewson, and Matt Gordon. Written by Emma Donoghue and directed by Lenny Abrahamson, the film will soon be available on Lionsgate Play. It will also be accessible with your OTTplay Premium subscription.
