Bridgerton Season 4 Update: A Surprising Reunion
Shondaland, on their official Instagram handle, has shared a major update about Bridgerton Season 4—confirming that two key characters who were once at odds have now reconciled in the upcoming season.
New stills from the show suggest that Claudia Jessie's Eloise and Nicola Coughlan's Penelope have made amends and are back together. Fans will remember that in Season 3, Eloise discovered that Penelope was actually Lady Whistledown, secretly publishing gossip about the Bridgertons. This shocking revelation led to a tense confrontation, leaving fans wondering if their friendship could ever be mended. Now, it seems they have found a way back to each other! Showrunner Jess Brownell even spoke to Entertainment Weekly about this reconciliation, saying: "They're more bonded than ever! Their trials and tribulations last season have added new depth to their friendship, and we're excited for viewers to see how their relationship looks now that they've each grown up a little."
Bridgerton 4 Teaser
The Bridgerton Season 4 teaser has also given fans a major surprise—we witness Luke Thompson’s Benedict meeting Yerin Ha’s Sophie for the first time at the grand Bridgerton masquerade ball. This unexpected reveal was a special Valentine’s Day treat for fans! Created by Chris Van Dusen, the upcoming season will consist of eight episodes and is based on Julia Quinn’s 2001 novel An Offer from a Gentleman, the third book in the eight-part Bridgerton series.
According to the book, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) falls in love with Sophie Beckett (Yerin Ha), the daughter of an earl who has been forced into servitude by her cruel stepmother. The 1-minute-17-second teaser offers a behind-the-scenes look at the sets and cast of Bridgerton Season 4. Fans catch glimpses of Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), Colin (Luke Newton), and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), along with new characters.
Reports confirm that Jatir Leung will play Lady Araminta, Sophie’s wicked stepmother, while Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei will portray her stepsisters, Rosamund Li and Posy Li. The teaser begins with Sophie saying, “It is a spectacular night.” She is seen wearing a stunning silver gown and a mask. The teaser then takes us through the grand sets, introducing recurring and new characters as they film.
However, the highlight of the teaser is none other than Jonathan Bailey as Viscount Bridgerton—and fans in the comment section are showering him with praise! The teaser ends with Benedict reassuring Sophie, “Do not worry, I won’t tell my mother.”
