New footage from Season 3 of Bridgerton features Simone Ashley's Kate and Jonathan Bailey's Anthony, who are now married. A member of the Bridgerton family falls in love in each of the two seasons of the historical drama that premiered on Netflix in 2020. The popular series is back on Netflix after a two-year absence, but this time it will be in two parts. On May 16, you'll be able to watch the first half of Part 1.

Anthony and Kate's married life

Netflix just dropped a sneak peek at some of the main characters in the third season of Bridgerton. The scene opens with Hannah Dodd's Francesca advising Anthony that she needs a moment alone. The viscount and his beautiful wife, Kate, start dancing as Penelope, clad in a verdant gown, watches on. As they dance in a ballroom with other couples, Anthony and Kate mimic the steps of a waltz.

New footage suggests, however, that the married couple will keep helping out the Bridgertons once the new season starts.

In the latest footage, we get a better look at Francesca's third-season debut. Due to the emphasis on the elder children, the sixth-eldest Bridgerton sibling did not have a significant role in seasons 1 and 2. Ruby Stokes appeared in five episodes during seasons one and two as Francesca. Season 3 is going to feature Francesca more prominently, but Stokes had to leave for the now-cancelled Lockwood & Co., so Dodd stepped in.

Focus on Colin and Penelope's romance

Season 3 will see Francesca's promotion, but it will centre on Colin, Francesca's brother, and his romance with Penelope Featherington, played by Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan, respectively. It will have the unique distinction of being the first in Julia Quinn's novel series to deviate from the chronological order. The upcoming season, on the other hand, will centre on Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, book four. Specifically, this will address the situation that arose in the season 2 finale of Bridgerton when Colin made some hurtful comments about Penelope, who happened to overhear them. Season 3 will likely focus on what happens next, with Penelope finally ready to settle down and Colin trying to reestablish his friendship.

An Offer from a Gentleman, the third instalment in Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, tells the tale of Benedict Bridgerton.

Anticipation for dramatic developments in Season 3

Season 3 will also see the return of Anthony and Kate, albeit in a supporting role. The newlyweds should enter the new plot without any scandals, unlike the previous season, when they had a rough go of it. New footage suggests, however, that the married couple will keep helping out the Bridgertons once the new season starts. The third season of Bridgerton is guaranteed to be just as dramatic as the previous two, what with all the rumours and potential romances.

Part one of Bridgerton season three will premiere on May 16 and part two on June 13.
