Ever since the time, the filmmaker Ayan Mukerji had announced the ‘Brahmastra’ Trilogy, the film had been making news for many reasons than one. At first, the film made news because of the casting coup that the director had managed to pull off in the form of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni in the lead roles. This was followed by the film’s humongous budget which became the talk of the town for quite some time. And, then came the release date of the film which led to the film being pushed back and forth many times. Braving all odds, the film ultimately got released theatrically 9 September last year. The film went onto become a blockbuster. After the success of the first part of ‘Brahmastra ’ (which was titled ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’), the audiences were extremely eager to see the film’s second part.

Today, the film maker Ayan Mukerji took to social media and put an end to the wait of the audiences for the film’s next part. On his part, Ayan Mukerji revealed the timeline of not just the film’s second part, but also the third instalment as well. The magnum opus continues with 'Brahmastra Part Two: Dev' and 'Brahmastra Part: Three' are set to hit the big screen in December 2026 and 2027 respectively. 

Ayan Mukerji took to social media and posted, “The Time has come - for some updates on the Brahmastra Trilogy, the Astraverse, and my Life! After absorbing all the love and the feedback on Part One... I have been focused on creating the Vision for Part Two and Part Three - which I now know will be bigger and more ambitious than Part One! I have learnt that we need a little more time to perfect the script of Brahmastra Two and Three! And...I have decided that we are going to make the two films... Together! Allowing them to also release closer together!”

He continued, “I have a timeline in place to achieve this, which I am sharing with you all today! I also have another piece of news to share...The Universe has presented me with a very special opportunity recently a very special movie - to step into and direct! What the movie is... More on that when the time is right :) An opportunity that challenges me and terribly excites me... one where I will learn, be inspired and where I will grow! So, I have decided to take it up!! Opening myself up to all the positive energies in this universe so I can do my best and contribute to that one thing that matters most to me - Indian Cinema! Love and Light, Ayan”.
