Rahul Sadasivan’s directorial Bramayugam, has finally hit the big screen today (February 15). The mystery horror drama is among Malayalam megastar Mammootty’s highly anticipated films of 2024, which is expected to mark the actor’s first box office hit this year.
Film enthusiasts and Mammootty fans have high hopes for the movie because of Rahul's ability to handle horror dramas in a compelling way while emphasising each actor's performances. The trailer and posters had also peaked people’s anticipation for Arjun Ashokan and Sidharth Bharathan’s acts in this film.

Before Bramayugam's theatrical release, people had expressed their excitement about it on various social media platforms. Many shared their opinions over the mystery drama on Twitter following its debut on the big screen today (February 15).
While many praised Sidharth Bharathan, Arjun Ashokan, and Mammootty for their performances, others applauded the director for choosing to screen the film in black and white, which enhanced the experience of watching it.
Some have called the megastar's character a 'deadly villain' living in a time of insanity. A few people, however, praised the background music for its timing in bringing excitement to the movie.
“Another milestone character for his extraordinary career,” tweeted one. Another wrote, “A captivating crescendo marked the beginning of the second half.”
One moviegoer tweeted about his experience seeing the movie and described the unsettling vibe he got whenever Mammootty appeared on screen because of the character's eerie aura. Many hailed the first half of the movie as excellent and appealing, strengthened by optimal performances.

The mystery horror film, which is centred in the dark ages of Kerala, is bankrolled by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth under the banners of Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios. Amalda Liz and Manikandan R Achari are also playing key roles in this film. The director himself has written the screenplay for Bramayugam, which will be distributed by Aan Mega Media in theatres across Kerala.
