Mammootty is joining hands with Bhoothakaalam director Rahul Sadasivan for his next outing in Malayalam cinema. The actor-director duo’s much-awaited project, which is touted to be a horror thriller, has been titled Bramayugam. If the reports are to be believed, Mammootty is playing a negative role in the movie, which stars Arjun Ashokan in a pivotal role. As per the latest updates, the much-awaited movie, which is gearing up for a February release, has now finished censor formalities.
Bramayugam bags a U/A certificate from censor board
As per the recent updates, Bramayugam which is slated to hit the theatres on February 15, 2024, completed its censor formalities today (January 30, 2024). The horror thriller has bagged a U/A certificate from the censor board with zero cuts. The grapevine also suggests that the Rahul Sadasivan film has a duration of around 140 minutes. An official update on the same is expected to be out very soon.
Mammootty, the leading man of the film announced the censor rating of Bramayugam and revealed a special poster of the film on his social media handles, recently. “#Bramayugam (Malayalam) - Certified UA. In Cinemas From FEB 15!” the veteran actor captioned his post. In the new poster, the megastar looks just terrifying as he laughs looking up, with his tongue out. The new poster once again confirms that the National award-winner is set to astonish his fans yet again, with his onscreen transformation.
Bramayugam - Here's what we know
As reported earlier, the recently released Bramayugam soundtrack revealed some interesting updates about the character played by Mammootty in the film. From the title of the first theme song, it is safe to assume that the megastar is playing the role of Kunjamon Potti, the owner of a mysterious mansion, and a black magician (Durmanthravadi), in the film. However, we will have to wait till the makers officially introduce Mammootty’s character, to confirm the same.
Arjun Ashokan is reportedly playing a young man who gets trapped inside Potti’s mansion in the film, which stars Sidharth Bharathan, Amalda Liz, and Manikandan R Achari, in supporting roles. Christo Xavier composes the songs and original score. Shehnad Jalal ISC is the director of photography. Shafique Mohamed Ali handles the editing. The Rahul Sadasivan directorial is produced by the banners Night Shift Studios and Y Not Studios.
