Upcoming Malayalam film Bramayugam, starring Mammootty and Arjun Ashokan, is making headlines ever since the makers released its first-look poster, showcasing the 72-year-old actor in a unique avatar. Going by the rumours, Arjun plays the lead role in the film, with Mammootty portraying the villain. Speaking of the latest, Arjun’s hilarious response to a fan’s comment on Instagram about the actor ‘sweating in front of Mammootty’ is going viral.

The comment was made on the first-look poster of Bramayugam, which was released on Mammootty’s birthday. Now, this viral exchange has led to a meme fest on social media. Additionally, it was also used by fans and netizens to laud Mammootty’s acting prowess, especially in antagonist characters. In some of the memes, Arjun is compared to Jordan Peele’s character sweating in an episode of American comedy series Key and Peele.

Mammootty’s villainous look in Bramayugam

In the first-look poster, we see Mammootty’s monochrome image sporting a devilish grin. He also sports a chain around his neck and earrings. In his illustrious 40-year film career, Mammootty has played some strong antagonist characters in movies like Vidheyan and Paleri Manikyam Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha. Now that Bramayugam’s first look is out, fans are eagerly waiting to see him play another intense character.

Bramayugam’s cast and crew

Bramayugam is a period horror movie helmed by Rahul Sadasivan, who is known for films like Red Rain and Shane Nigam-starrer Bhoothkaalam. The film is touted to revolve around old myths and sorcery that prevailed in ancient Kerala. In the film, Mammootty is reportedly playing a sorcerer, who lives with snakes.

Arjun and Mammootty will be sharing screen again in Bramayugam after Khalid Rahman’s Unda. The film also stars Sidharth Bharathan and Amalda Liz in prominent roles. Bramayugam is produced by YNOT Studios that backed films like Vikram Vedha and Dhanush-starrer Jagame Thandiram. Bramayugam is poised for an early 2024 release. It is being shot in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi.
