There’s no doubt that Telugu audiences enjoy their time in theatres - regardless of a dubbed release or a straight film. Several dubbed films like Jailer, Bichagadu 2, Vaarasudu, Sapta Saagaralu Dhaati have either been commercially successful or received impressive reviews from critics upon release this year. One such film in this list is Boys Hostel, the dubbed version of Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare.
Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare, directed by Nithin Krishnamurthy, featuring newcomers, has been of the surprise success stories in Kannada cinema in 2023. Two production houses - Annapurna Studios and Chai Bisket Films - decided to back the film’s Telugu version Boys Hostel. Tharun Bhascker, Rashmi Gautham chipped in, with their special appearances that were an added attraction.
After a brief theatrical run, Boys Hostel is now coming to OTT. ETV Win, the OTT platform owned by the Eenadu group, has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. The streamer recently confirmed the digital premiere of the film in the coming weeks. The film is expected to arrive on ETV Win in the first week of November (tentatively November 3).
The story takes off when the warden of a boys hostel leaves a suicide note by his side and all hell breaks loose. A group of boys, who are mentioned in the note, need to get rid of the warden without the knowledge of their hostel buddies. What’s their ploy to get out of this miss?
