Nani had pinned a lot of hope on Hi Nanna and promoted it on a massive note before the release. The result is there for us to see, as the family drama got off to a decent start at the box office. Though the day-one collections of the film were low, the positive word helped the film and the weekend collections of the film were impressive.

Hi Nanna has now crossed the Rs 22 crore mark and needs only Rs 5 crore to be in the safe zone. Hi Nanna also passed the key Monday test, as more than 60,000 tickets were sold on the BookMyShow app alone, showing that the film is having a steady run at the box office.

But the same is not the case with the other release, Extra Ordinary Man, featuring Nithin and Sreeleela. The action drama, which was released on December 8 and directed by Vakkantam Vamsi, failed to do well at the box office and there are no takers for the film. This commercial drama failed to capture the imagination of even the B and C centres, which were its target audience.

This automatically left the concentration of the audience to shift towards Hi Nanna and the film has been doing great in countries like the US, where it has made over Rs 1.2 million at the box office and is still going strong even on the weekdays.

Shouryuv, a debut director, helmed Hi Nanna, which has Mrunal Thakur as the female lead. Hesham Abdul Wahab's hit music was also one of the biggest reasons for the film to work well at the box office. We need to see how Hi Nanna performs in the days to come.
