Box office: Gandeevadhari Arjuna flops, Bedurulanka makes Rs 3.8 crores, Boys Hostel has no takers

Telugu films are making headlines one after the other. Allu Arjun won the National Award for his film Pushpa and proved that Telugu films are not far behind Hindi cinema. Some very interesting films are coming out one after the other and this week, films like Bedurulanka 2012, Boys Hostel, and Gandeevadhari Arjuna were released on August 25, 2023. Let's look at how these films performed at the box office.

Gandeevadhari Arjun box office 

First in line is Gandeevadhari Arjuna which had Varun Tej and Sakshi Vaidya as the main leads. Praveen Sattaru directed this film which was an action drama. The promos of the film caught on quite well but sadly, the film opened to very dull word of mouth. 

The occupancy on day one itself was not even 70% and with the flop talk, the film's occupancy has gone down over the weekend. The makers will lose heavily as they had spent a bomb on the film.

Bedurulanka 2012 box office

Karthikeya played the main lead in this film which also had Neha Sshetty as the female lead. The film was directed by Clax and was promoted on a decent note. The box office numbers are out and Bedurulanka 2012 has made Rs 3.8 crores gross in two days.

Though the reviews have been dull, the single-screen theatres are seeing decent collections. The film is about an imaginary village named Bedurulanka who lives in the fear that the world will come to an end by the year 2012.

Boys Hostel box office

Boys Hostel is a dubbed film which was a big hit in Kannada. The Telugu version was released on August 26, 2023, and the reviews for the film have been pretty decent. But the occupancy is quite dull as there is no star value in the film. Even though there is no competition for this film at the box office, Boys Hostel is struggling to attract an audience at the box office.

Upcoming Telugu releases in September, 2023

All eyes are now on Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Kushi which will be out on September 1, 2023. Shiva Nirvana has directed this film which is a love story. The promotions are in full swing and we need to see how much will this film click at the box office. 

Apart from this film, biggies like Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty, and Shahrukh Khan's Jawan are all set to release on September 7, 2023, in Telugu. Watch this space for more box office numbers of Telugu films.
