Box Office: Das Ka Dhamki steady, Rangamarthanda sees low occupancy

The month of March is halfway through and not many Telugu biggies are coming out as it is the exam season here in the Telugu states. Once the month of april starts, big films start coming out one after the other. Coming to this week, Vishwak Sen's Das Ka Dhamki and Krishna Vamsi's Rangamarthanda got released at the box office.

First in line is Das Ka Dhamki which was released with solid promotion. The hype showed up in the two day collections as the film made over 13 crores gross in the first three days of its release and became Vishwak Sen's highest openings so far. As there are no other big films, Das Ka Dhamki is also seeing good occupancy and the weekend will surely help.

On the other hand, Krishna Vamsi's Rangamarthanda got blazing reviews but the collections are minimal. The film is being appreciated a lot by the likes of Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna but the occupancy has not improved. As it is a family drama, the youth and A center audience is not that interested. In a way, Das Ka Dhamki has clearly sidelined Rangamarthanda at the box office.

Vishwak Sen acted, produced and directed Das Ka Dhamki. He has made handsome money as the film has opened to surprising occupancy which even Vishwak did not imagine. Rangamarthanda had big stars like Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna, Brahmanandam and Anasuya in key roles. The film is the official remake of the Marathi hit film Nata Samrat.
