Bougainvillea, the mystery crime thriller directed by Amal Neerad, recently had its OTT release on Sony LIV. The movie, which stars Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi in the lead roles, received mixed reviews from the audiences and critics. Fahadh Faasil and Srinda, who played supporting roles in the film, are now getting trolled for their performances. The character played by the National Award-winning actor in Bougainvillea has especially disappointed the cinephiles.
For the uninitiated, Fahadh Faasil’s performance in the Amal Neerad directorial has disappointed the netizens. The National Award-winning actor played the role of ACP David Koshy IPS, a cop who investigates the missing case of a young woman. Cinephiles feel that the talented actor was just wasted in the underwritten role, which had no scope to perform. Fahadh’s repetitive scenes in the movie have also irked the netizens, who are now trolling the same on social media.
“BTW, what was Fahadh Faasil doing in Bougainvillea?,” asked a fan on X (formerly Twitter). “Why on earth would Fahadh accept such a role,” wrote a cinephile, in his Bougainvillea review. “First, he was an entertainer in Aavesham, Then, he was a comedian in Vettaiyyan, Suddenly, he turned into a dumbass in Bougainvillea. Finally, he is hailed as a clown in Pushpa 2... Fahadh Faasil in 2024 in a nutshell,” reads another fan post.
Similarly, Srinda, who played the role of protagonist Reethu’s maid Rema in the film, is also being trolled for her performance in the climax portions. In one of the pivotal scenes in the film, Rema is seen attacking the antagonist, played by Kunchacko Boban, with a chair. The scene, which is unconvincingly staged, ends with the dialogue: “Ivanokke ithre ullu chechi” (This is all it takes, sister). Netizens are now heavily trolling Srinda for this unintentionally funny scene, and her dialogue delivery is the same.
