Bougainvillea, the highly anticipated upcoming Amal Neerad directorial is gearing up for its grand theatrical release. Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi play the lead roles in the film, which is touted to be a psychological crime thriller. The movie, which stars Fahadh Faasil in a pivotal role, created a stir on social media with its songs and trailer. As per the latest updates, Bougainvillea completed the censor formalities recently, and has bagged a U/A certificate.

Recently, the sources close to the upcoming Amal Neerad directorial revealed that Bougainvillea finished the censor formalities successfully. The movie, which is slated to hit the theatres on October 17, 2024, has reportedly bagged a U/A certificate from the censor board. Now, it has been confirmed that the movie is indeed an intense watch, which will keep the audience at the edge of their seats. Bougainvillea reportedly has a total runtime of 2 hours 18 minutes and 40 seconds.

The highly anticipated Amal Neerad directorial is jointly scripted by the filmmaker himself, along with popular writer Lajo Jose. Bougainvillea, which is rumoured to be a loose adaptation of Lajo Jose’s famous novel Roothinte Lokam, is touted to be a psychological thriller, that revolves around an investigation of the mysterious missings of young women from the city. Jyothirmayi is playing the role of Reethu, a woman who suffers from memory loss in the film. Kunchacko Boban, on the other hand, plays Reethu’s husband, Dr. Royce Thomas.

Fahadh Faasil is making a set to make a cameo appearance in the film. As per the reports, the actor is playing David Koshy, a cop who handles the investigation, in the film. Bougainvillea also features Sharaf U Dheen, Veena Nandakumar and Srindaa in other pivotal roles. Sushin Shyam composes the songs and original score. Anend C Chandran is the director of photography. Vivek Harshan handles the editing of the film.
