Bougainvillea – Amal Neerad’s Kunchacko Boban-Fahadh Faasil starrer gets a title

Amal Neerad, the celebrated cinematographer-turned-filmmaker, is set to return to the big screens, after the massive success of Mammootty-starrer Bheeshma Parvam. The director is teaming up with Kunchacko Boban for the first time in his career for an upcoming action thriller. The movie, which stars Fahadh Faasil in a special appearance, has been titled Bougainvillea. The cast and crew members of the film announced the official title along with a brand new poster on social media today.

Kunchacko Boban, the leading man and co-producer of the film, recently took to his official social media handles and revealed the much-awaited title of his next outing with director Amal Neerad. “BOUGAINVILLEA…….. An Amal Neerad Movie,” wrote the popular star, who revealed the official title announcement poster of the highly anticipated film on his official handles. The multi-starrer film features a stellar star cast including Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Jyothirmayi, Sharaf U Dheen, Sridnaa, and Veena Nandakumar, in the pivotal roles.

Notably, the unique title announcement poster also features the still of a deadly black dog, which is seen chasing a pig, towards its bottom right side. From this still, it is safe to assume that Bougainvillea narrates the story of power dynamics between people from different castes and classes. The poster also suggests that the movie, which reportedly features leading man Kunchacko Boban in a role with negative shades, might depict the story of the oppressed and oppressors.

Bougainvillea – Cast and Crew

Kunchacko Boban is playing the negative lead in the film, which reportedly stars Fahadh Faasil in an important extended cameo appearance. Sharaf U Dheen is reportedly playing the protagonist in the much-awaited film. Jyothirmayi, the talented actress and wife of director Amal Neerad, is making a comeback to acting after a very long gap with Bougainvillea. The movie marks both Srindaa and Veena Nandakumar’s second collaboration with the filmmaker and his team, after Bheeshma Parvam.

Amal Neerad has also co-written the film along with Lajo Jose. Sushsin Shyam has composed the songs and original score. Anend C Chandran is the director of photography. Vivek Harshan handles the editing. Bougainvillea, which is jointly produced by Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi under the banners of Udhaya Pictures and Amal Neerad Productions, is slated to hit the theatres in September 2024.
