Fans were ecstatic to know that their Real Star Upendra is back in the director's seat with UI. The film, which promises to be as quirky as any of Uppi's previous endeavours, is currently in the production stage with the shooting in full swing. The actor-director has piqued the curiosities of his dedicated audience through the rather bizarre title and the first-look poster but has also ensured that the storyline and other key details of the film are kept under wraps.

However, the latest speculations reveal that the team of UI is keen on casting Sunny Leone in the film. While there is no official word on the same, a few reports claim that the Bollywood siren was spotted recently in Bengaluru to be part of the UI sets and that, unlike in her previous Kannada ventures, she will be playing an important character in the film. In fact, another media outlet reports that Sunny will play the female lead in the Upendra directorial! Well, isn't that an alluring casting choice now.

Sunny Leone has previously appeared in special dance numbers in the films DK and Champion.

That said, the news can only be treated as speculation until the makers share an official confirmation on this. The principal cast of UI has been the subject of a lot of media scrutiny ever since the film went on floors - previously, it was announced that popular Telugu/Hindi actor Murali Sharma joined the sets back in June with Pancharangi actress Nidhi Subbaiah roped in soon after. In the same vein, reports have speculated that Ek Love Ya girl Reeshma Nanaih too could be part of the film along with Indrajit Lankesh, BBK 9 contestant Prashanth Sambargi, and Om Saiprakash.

UI is a joint production venture of G. Manoharan of Lahari Films and K.P. Sreekanth of Venus Entertainers.
