After Abir Chatterjee and Koushani Mukherjee, Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s look in Bohurupi was revealed on Saturday. The film is directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad. The latter is also acting in the film. It showed Shiboprosad, playing a character named Vikram, standing on the stage wearing a garland made of shoes.
Shiboprosad dons a grave face and seems thin. To play the role, Shiboprosad had a diet of puffed rice for a long time. Bohurupi will be released this year. It stars Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, and Koushani Mukherjee as the leads.
Earlier, Shiboprosad said, “We started planning for the film in 2011; right after Muktodhara. The film is based on some events that happened in West Bengal in the period 1998-2005. The real characters, who have given their versions, are alive and we plan to release a documentary along with the film featuring them.’
He further said, “This is Abir’s second film in our directorial venture. In the last two consecutive Pujas, Abir’s films have been superhit. After Durgeshgarer Guptodhon and Roktobeej, Bahurupi comes this Puja. This is Ritabhari’s first work in our directorial venture. Her last film by our production, Fatafati, was a success. Abir and Ritabhari’s pair was also a superhit. We feel wonderful to bring them back. This is our first work with Koushani. It was our decision to work with artists with whom we never worked before. We love Koushani’s work. Her work in the series Abar Proloy was wonderful. Her character in Bohurupi will create an impression in the audience.”
To talk about his acting in Bohurupi, he said ‘I am grateful to Nandita di for giving me two films in a year as an actor. This is my first Puja release as an actor and therefore special to me.’
