The festivity of Durga Puja is finally here. This year, three films – Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Bohurupi, Srijit Mukherji and Dev’s Tekka and Mithun Chakraborty starrer Shastri will be released. The promotions of these films started in full swing. On Wednesday, team Bohurupi caught the shoppers at the New Market by surprise.

The New Market area was brimming with the Puja shopping. People were not disheartened even in the rain. Crowds have started to increase around New Market and Esplanade as the Puja days are coming. However, the area witnessed a rare scene on Wednesday. Koushani Mukherjee was seen dancing on the rain-soaked street, encircled by colored faces.

Koushani had a red chiffon saree and her hair was untied. She danced among the bohurupis. Why did she come here? On Wednesday, the new song Dakatiya Banshi of the Windows film Bohurupi was released in such a fashion. The real-life Bohurupi artist Nonichora Das Baul lent voice to the song. He was also present in the place. The place was crowded and many people clicked the photo on their phone.

The film, directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, will be released on October 8. The director duo stunned everyone last year with their debut Puja release Raktabeej. This year’s Puja release Bohurupi centers around some daring bank robberies that happened in West Bengal in the nineties, the conspirators, and the administration’s battle to catch the criminal. Abir Chatterjee will play SI Sumanta Ghosal. Shiboprosad Mukherjee will play the Bohurupi Bikram. Ritabhari Chakraborty and Koushani Mukherjee are playing two other important roles.
