Dhrubo Banerjee’s comedy Bogla Mama Jug Jug Jiyo is set to be released on November 24 and the director is confident with his film. However, Bogla Mama, aka Kharaj Mukherjee seems to be a little tense. The film's trailer was dropped on Monday when Kharaj said this.
At the event, Kharaj wore his character’s outfits and carried a black umbrella. It stole the journalists' attention. Riddhi Sen, Ujjwal Chatterjee, Sudip Dhara, Jeet Sundar, Mithun Gupta, Koushik Sen, Reshmi Sen, DoP Soumik Haldar, and musician Indraadip Dasgupta were also present there.
Dhrubo said, “If Kharajda were born in a foreign country, he would go miles ahead.” Satyajit Ray said the same thing about the legendary actor Tulsi Chakraborty, who is Kharaj's idol. Is there any regret that he did not get the honour he deserved? Kharaj replied, “Rabi Ghosh told me not to regret and to be happy with whatever I get. Otherwise, it will break my heart and I will lag. Hence I remain happy. Whatever I get is not little.”
Kharaj did one month's rehearsal before the shooting. “I stayed whatever I am. I just donned Bogola Mama on me--attires and styles like him. Dhrubo is finicky. He perfectly matched me with Bogola Mama.” This is a story of the sixties, which is full of para culture and closeness with the neighbors. Kharaj also believes in this culture. Hence he was comfortable working in the film, which had a family environment, especially with the kids' gang, said Kharaj.
