Anime series Bocchi the Rock! was one of the many successful releases of Fall 2022, leaving fans excited for its sequel series. Although no official confirmation has been made about the second season, reports claim that a compilation anime movie is currently in the making, and it will make its way to the theatres in Japan in Spring 2024.
In an announcement video, Anime distribution company Aniplex has revealed that Bocchi the Rock! compilation movie will be out in Spring 2024. The film will compile the first 12 episodes of Season 1 Bocchi the Rock! anime series.
Premiered in October 2022, Bocchi the Rock! anime series is an adaptation of Aki Hamaji's manga series of the same name. Directed by Keiichirou Saitou, the 12-episode musical comedy television series covers the first 22 chapters of the ongoing manga series. Currently, the manga series has 66 chapters, with 61 chapters covered in five volumes.
Season 1 introduces us to Hitori Gotoh, a girl who suffers from social anxiety but yearns to make friends while devoting her life to playing the guitar. The series then follows her life as a member of a musical band called Kessoku Band as she tries to balance her high school life. Produced by CloverWorks, the television anime series is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
Voice artist Yoshino Aoyama has provided the voice for the main character in the series, Hitori Gotoh. Saku Mizuno, Sayumi Suzushiro, and Ikumi Hasegawa have lent their voices to Ryou Yamada, Nijika Ijichi, and Ikuyo Kita, respectively. Together, the four of them make up Kessoku Band.
