Boat, the recently released Tamil film starring actor Yogi Babu in the lead role, is all set to make its OTT debut soon. The survival drama is written and directed by filmmaker Chimbu Deven. Boat is set to premiere on Prime Video on October 1.

Yogi Babu headlined the recently released Tamil film Boat, which is written and directed by filmmaker Chimbu Deven. The film released in theatres on August 2, and is a period survival drama set during the pre-Independence era.
Now, after finishing the theatrical run, the film is all set to make its OTT debut. It will begin streaming on Prime Video from October 1 onwards. Boat is set during the pre-Independence era and revolves around a group of people who get stranded on a boat in the middle of the sea, as the Japanese bomb the nation. With each character coming from different walks of life, and minimal stock to survive, a drama ensues between them, amid the many life dangers they have to face. The film is said to be based on true incidents. Yogi Babu plays the man who rows the boat.
Besides Yogi Babu, the film also stars Gouri Kishan, MS Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Madhumitha, Sha Ra, Chaaams, and others in pivotal roles. Boat was shot in the backwaters of Uvari coastal village in Tirunelveli, with much security in place. The technical crew consists of Madhesh Manickam as the cinematographer and Dinesh Ponraj handling the edits. Ghibran scored the music for the film.
Boat also has a special reference to the 2024 Tamil film Indian 2. Boat, based on true events, received mixed reviews upon its release. Boat is produced by Prabha Premkumar and C Kalaivani under Maali and Maanvi Movie Makers and Chimbudeven Entertainment banners.
