Dia and KTM fame Dheekshith Shetty is gearing up for the release of his next in Kannada. After the intense love story KTM, the actor returns with a very different film. This time around, he’s presenting a sci-fi tale that involves a bit of time travelling too, a concept that he found novel. Directed by newbie Srinidhi Bengaluru, whom Dheekshith has known since his theatre days, the film is releasing in theatres on March 8 for Mahashivratri.

Earlier today, the trailer of Blink came out and going by the visuals it is clear that the story is set across two timelines, demarcated by the colour palettes used for certain sequences set in the past. Dheekshith is a youngster called Apurva, who’s been told that his father left him and his mother when he was all of five years old. In his search for the truth behind his father’s disappearance, Apurva faces shocking revelations.

Blink also stars Chaithra J Achar, Manadara Battalahalli, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Vajradheer Jain, Kiran Naik and Suresh Anagall, among others. The film has been ready for a while and the team has been toying with release dates since mid-2023, but it is only now that they finally took a call and decided to release on March 8. Currently, the major releases along with it are Ranganayaka and Karataka Damanaka, with at least 2-3 other Kannada films also vying for the same date.

The film is being marketed as a musical sci-fi film and is said to have over 10 songs. Blink is one of 3 films that Dheekshith signed before Dia, all of which were in different genres. It was meant to be his first Kannada release since Dia, but then KTM came out on February 16. The film is not a massive hit, but has done decent business for a newbie team, reckons the actor.
