Lionsgate Play, your one-stop destination for all types of underrated and unheard Hollywood contents, is here with another exciting English movie, Black Water: Abyss. Released in 2020, the horror thriller drama is finally set to make its digital debut in India on the streaming platform. The movie gives a mixed experience of claustrophobia, engaging viewers in a world of darkness and murky water, where the threat of a massive crocodile creates a genuinely unsettling atmosphere.
The English horror thriller–Black Water: Abyss is set to drop on Lionsgate Play, on January 10, 2025. Interestingly, you will also be able to watch the movie through OTTplay Premium. Directed by Andrew Traucki, the movie features Jessica McNamee, Luke Mitchell, Amali Golden, Anthony Sharpe, Rhys Ward, and Benjamin Hoetjes in key roles.
The narrative introduces a group of five friends, who are excited for their adventurous trip as they decide to explore the hidden network of caves deep within an Australian forest. Soon they venture into the cool, dark depths, their flashlight beams cutting through the gloom. Suddenly, a fierce tropical storm raged outside, trapping them within the cave system. Unknowingly and surprisingly, they are not alone. A terrifying hungry creature, concealed in the shadows, watching them from the darkness, patiently waiting for the storm to subside and reveal its unsuspecting prey.
Back in 2020, before the movie’s release, filmmaker Andrew Traucki shared his several experiences of filming Black Water: Abyss. In an interview with The Phuket News portal, he stated that he loves watery places and beaches. He even loves to surf. According to him, it's a great texture and element to a film. However, he admits it's quite difficult to shoot in water. Even its hectic for the whole crew as well.
