Vikramaditya Motwane's upcoming series, Black Warrant, is all set to be released on Netflix. The series will focus on the inside of Tihar Jail, India’s largest and most notorious prison, through the perspective of rookie jailer, Sunil Gupta. The series features Zahan Kapoor in the lead role (Sunil Gupta). The trailer of the series was released today, January 3, and has been getting attention from viewers. All you need to know about Zahan Kapoor
Zahan Kapoor is the grandson of Shashi Kapoor. Belonging to one of the most influential Bollywood families, he was born on 11 March 1992. He is the son of Kunal Kapoor and Sheena Sippy.
His great-grandfather on his paternal side are actors Prithviraj Kapoor and Geoffrey Kendal. Bollywood actors Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, and Ranbir Kapoor are his second cousins.
Zahan began his career by assisting theatre director Sunil Shanbag in a workshop for children. Later, he also took part in theatre plays or similar other activities. Zahan got his breakthrough with Hansal Mehta’s Faraaz in 2002.
He starred in the play Siachen written by Aditya Rawal and directed by Makarand Deshpande. It followed the survival story of Indian soldiers stuck on the Siachen Glacier.

The trailer of Black Warrant features Zahan Kapoor as Sunil Gupta, a rookie jailer, stepping into the jaws of a system where power and fame reign supreme and demand the price of survival. Along with his two trusted fellow jailers, he overcomes challenges and navigates the harsh realities of Tihar’s power dynamic, and politics, and takes on some of the most notorious inmates.
The series also features Rahul Bhat, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Anurag Thakur, and Sidhant Gupta, and special appearances by Rajshri Deshpande, Tota Roy Chaudhary, and Rajendra Gupta.
Meanwhile, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Black Warrant will be released on January 10 on Netflix.
