Black Adam, a superhero movie starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, could have a good first day if it opens with about 15%. Beyond that, it is one of the better initials for Hollywood after the pandemic. However, the opening is nothing like the Marvel franchise movies.
Box Office India reports that Black Adam opened lower than expected, especially in English, which is where most of the money comes from. However, it should be able to compete with the opening day numbers of any other Hollywood movie that came out after the pandemic. Outside of the Marvel franchise, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom had the best opening for Hollywood post-pandemic, earning around Rs. 8 crore nett. If the movie's first day at the box office did as well as Jurassic World's, that would be a huge success.
The initials of event films and other films are very different, much like in Hindi movies, where the sky is the limit for event films and a double-digit number is a significant challenge for others. Given that Black Adam is being released on a Thursday, just before Diwali, a first-day gross of Rs. 6 to 7 crore nett would be a respectable performance.
The movie would typically perform well on Saturday and Sunday with children and families, but because it is the pre-Diwali weekend this week, attendance will likely be lower than it would be on a typical weekend. In addition, Sunday's big India vs. Pakistan cricket match will likely see peak attendance in the afternoon.
Dwayne Johnson plays the title character in Black Adam, the action-adventure from New Line Cinema. Under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra, the first feature film to examine the history of DC superheroes hits the big screen. Teth Adam received the powerful gods' powers in prehistoric Kahndaq. After employing his abilities for retribution, he was captured and transformed into Black Adam. After almost 5,000 years, Black Adam has evolved from a real person to a story and then to a legend. Now that he has been set free, the Justice Society, made up of Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone, challenges his one-of-a-kind brand of vengeful justice.
