Bison: Makers of Dhruv Vikram-Mari Selvaraj film share update | All details here

We had already reported that actor Dhruv Vikram will be joining hands with director Mari Selvaraj for a film titled Bison. The film will be a sports drama based on kabaddi, which will also star actor Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead. Now, the makers dropped a new update about the film. The team has completed shooting the first schedule. Read on further to know more details about the project.

Bison marks Dhruv Vikram’s maiden collaboration with Mari Selvaraj. The first schedule of the film has been wrapped up, the makers announced recently. Bison will be sports drama with the protagonist playing the role of a kabbadi player. While reports stated that the film will be a biopic on Manathi Ganesan, the filmmaker had denied that and said Bison will be completely a fictional film.

Actor Anupama Parameswaran who was last seen in Tamil in Jayam Ravi-starrer Siren, will be playing the female lead in Bison. Apart from her, the film will also star actors Lal, Pasupathy, Kalaiyarasan, Rajisha Vijayan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal and Aruvi Madhan among others.

Applause Entertainment and Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions are backing the film. This marks the second collaboration of Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj after Pariyerum Perumal.

Bison will have music scored by Nivas K Prasanna in his first collaboration with Mari Selvaraj. It is known that Santhosh Narayanan is a regular collaborator of the director, and speculations arose that the falling out between Santhosh and Pa Ranjith has caused this. However, Mari Selvaraj cleared the air and said that he wanted a fresh voice for the film and hence, went with Nivas. Bison will be shot by cinematographer Ezhil Arasu and editor Sakthikumar.

A release date for Bison is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Mari Selvaraj last directed Maamannan. The filmmaker also has Vaazhai, which is set to get release date soon.
