Birthday Gupshup With Stars: Seerat Kapoor

After having started off her career in showbiz as a choreographer, the talented actress Seerat Kapoor went onto make her debut as a leading lady with the south film ‘Run Raja Run’. Post that, she has been a part of many other films including ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’, ‘Okkashanam’, ‘Krishna’, ‘Leela’, ‘Columbus’, ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’, and ‘Tiger’. Recently, she made her Bollywood debut with the Naseerudin Shah and Tusshar Kapoor starrer ‘Maarrich’.

On the occasion of her birthday (which is today), OTTplay met up with the lady for an exclusive birthday wherein she spoke about her birthday plans and much more… Over to you, Seerat!

Hey Seerat! Happy Birthday, girl! Can you share your birthday plans with us?
So my birthday plan is going to be out of Bombay and that is all I can reveal as of now. It'll be with friends and family who have been extremely, extremely close to me in all these years. The ones who've been through my lowest times, and who have never made me feel like my profession is my only identity.

Since it’s your birthday, its goes without saying that you are spending your birthday with special people. Do you mind telling us who these special people are with whom you will be spending your birthday?
I am very particular in general about my circle, and in these arenas, I just like to bring in my birthday with those who mean well for me. For me, it's important to also have a great time, so people with great energy, positive people and my dear loved ones.

Over the years, you must have received many gifts on your birthday; Can you recall the kind of gifts that you have got over the years? And which gift has been the most cherished one or memorable one? It can be anything under the sun…
Definitely a lot of clothes! There are times when I have got skincare products because that's something that I really like. And then, there are times when I have got cash as well, which is great I feel, because, I can spend it however I want. But one particular thing that I remember is when I got a mic as a gift. I really thought that mic was indeed a very thoughtful gift. And since I am a singer, it was really sweet of someone to gift me a mic. (smiles).

Have you ever gifted anything to anyone on their birthday that is still evergreen in your memory?
I have given many gifts to people near and dear to me, but, I have never kept a count. For me, every gift is personal and thoughtful. That’s why I consider them all very special.

If you had to describe yourself in just one sentence, what would that be?
‘Rooted’!

Tell us the reasons or situations that would make you smile?
When I am around someon e and I can have a conversation with some context and a deeper meaning to it, then that puts a smile on my face. Also, when I see someone do something nice out of the goodness of their heart for a stranger, even if they are unaware of it, it makes me smile. And lots of other things, but on a deeper level, these two things.

If you had to look back in time and have an option of shifting gears and changing your career, would you be doing that?
No, I think everything so far that has happened; it happened at a pace that I needed to learn. The creative arts are so connected to who you are as a person.

Tell us about your greatest strength and also your greatest weakness?
My greatest strength, I think is optimism. And my weakness is that I used to trust people easily. Today, things are a bit different.

Since it’s your birthday today, have you planned for the life ahead after today?
It's all in the mind, and I think it's already happening in different ways. My plan this year would be to love myself unconditionally and see where that love takes.

Have you promised yourself something on your birthday?
Yes…that I will have a great time, and I will have no thoughts. So, it's so important to have my birthday organized around the right energy.

How would you describe your ‘birthday’s state of mind’?
Totally at peace, and I think more connected with me.

Any regrets in life till date?
None whatsoever! I have zero regrets about anything because; I am a strong believer of the saying, ‘Everything in life happens for the best’.
