Billa Ranga Baasha, director Anup Bhandari’s next with Kiccha Sudeep is inching closer to going on floors. Pitched as the first film the duo wanted to collaborate on, it had to be set aside indefinitely owing to logistical issues of mounting a project of that scale. The wait has paid off, as Anup and Sudeep have got the makers of the hit film HanuMan, Primeshow, to back their ambitious project. But for the fact that the story is set almost 200 years in the future, nothing much is known about the film.

Here's how to be a part of Billa Ranga Baasha

That could change if you are interested in acting and would like to be a part of Anup’s vision. On the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, the filmmaker put out a casting call on social media, which, interestingly did not specify any criteria for the talent that he’s looking for. Anup wants prospective talent to send him a mail, that he will respond to with a form that they have to fill. This form will, in all likelihood, outline the specifications that the filmmaker requires for his film.

Although Anup’s busy gearing up to get Billa Ranga Baasha on floors, it is not clear if it will be Sudeep’s next after Max. The actor has vowed to never again work on one project at a time and is looking at doing multiple films simultaneously, for better utilization of his dates. He had recently said that a film with Satya Jyothi Films and another with KRG Studios, which will be his return to direction, are in the pipeline and that he will greenlight another 3-4 in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the actor, who has not had a release since 2022’s Vikrant Rona, is counting down to his next, Max. The film, directed by debutant Vijay Kartikeyaa, is expected to release shortly, with the makers to announce the release date on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi, as per the last slide of the recent song, Maximum Mass.
