Anup Bhandari's 41st birthday, which he celebrated on March 2nd, brought along a rather cryptic post that has now got the social media talking. The filmmaker has been away from the limelight since the time of the release of Vikrant Rona, making a few sporadic appearances on the internet for not-so-exciting reasons. However, one sought the all-important update from him regarding the highly anticipated film Billa Ranga Baasha, which would forge another collaboration with Kiccha Sudeep.
Although Anup has already shared the title poster of the project, he, and Sudeep, have remained mum about the development of the project. But, as it turns out, his latest tweet has, more or less, offered a confirmation that Billa Ranga Baasha is very much on the cards.
"Thanks to each one of you for the wonderful wishes!
ಬಿ ಗಿಯಾಗ್ ಕೂತ್ಕೋಳಿ, (Bigiyaagi Koothkoli or Sit Tight)
ರಂ ಪಾಟ ಶುರುವಾಗಕ್ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಮಯ ಬೇಕು (R ampaata shuruvagak swalpa samaya beku or The slugfest will begin soon)
ಬಾ ಡೂಟದ್ ಜೊತೆ ಬರ್ತೀವಿ. (Badootad jothe barthivi or We will arrive with a feast)
ಅಲ್ಲಿವರ್ಗು ಎಂದಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ತಾಳ್ಮೆ ಇರ್ಲಿ - (Until then, let's be patient like always)
Be Right Back!
With Anup highlighting the letters 'B', 'R', and 'B' (the acronym for Billa Ranga Baasha being BRB), one can be certain that he is referring to the mighty project.
In the same vein, he also shared a picture that included a small glimpse of a screenplay that he is developing. Although the title/heading of the film is cropped out, netizens believe that he is referring to Billa Ranga Baasha and nothing else.
To make things clearer, Anup's brother and actor Nirup Bhandari too made a not-so-direct reference to Billa Ranga Baasha in his birthday wish.
Happy birthday @anupsbhandari. May this year “Be Remarkably Brilliant”!!
So, with Anup Bhandari making a unique-yet-ambiguous confirmation, could we expect a formal announcement to be made soon? YES, says the internet as reports emerge stating that Billa Ranga Baasha will be confirmed on or around the upcoming Ugadi festival, which falls on March 22nd.
Should Billa Ranga Baasha be announced on Ugadi, it would be interesting to see if Sudeep starts working on it before the Venkat Prabhu directorial, which is currently in development. More updates to follow.
