Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8: Finalists, cash prize, who is leading the poll? Everything you need to know

Bigg Boss Tamil season 8 kickstarted in late 2024 with 18 contestants and actor Vijay Sethupathi stepping into the shoes of Kamal Haasan to host the show. The reality television, which follows the format of international show Bigg Brother, is in its eighth season and is nearing finale. What started with 18 contestants and six wild card entrants, have now sixed down to five finalists who are expecting their fate to be decided soon. Muthukumaran, Soundarya, VJ Vishal, Pavithra Janani and Rayan are the five finalists who are eyeing for the trophy and cash prize.

Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8: Who are the finalists

For those who have been following Bigg Boss Tamil 8, know that the show is nearing its end with the finale all set to premiere on Sunday evening. The show is hosted by Vijay Sethupathi, and after each week a contestant getting evicted, Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 is all set to declare its winner.

After 18 contestants took part in the show (and six wild card entrants), several challenges and emotional turmoil thrown at them, five of them have emerged as finalists. They include Muthukumaran, Pavithra Janani, Rayan, VJ Vishal, and Soundarya.

Muthukumaran Jegatheesan is an orator and debate speaker, who has anchored shows and is known for his prowess in Tamil language. His way of words and tactics of playing games inside the house have attracted attention of his fans.

VJ Vishal is a television presenter and actor who is one of the finalists in the show. Vishal's participation inside the house was much debated, especially the rapport he shared with housemates Tharshika and Anshidha. The contestant was heavily criticised for leading on Tharshika, and was alleged for latter's elimination after which he grew close with Anshidha.

Pavithra Janani is a serial actor, and one of the finalists in the show. Her calm demeanour and kind spirit has made her stand tall among rest of the contestants. Pavithra Janani's most talked about moments were her clash with Manjari during ticket to finale, and her benevolent behaviour during Angels VS Devils task.

Rayan is the only wild card entry among the finalists and had won the ticket to finale making him the first contestant to reach the finals. Known for sharing a close bond with housemates Soundarya and Jacqueline, Rayan is an actor by profession. His stint inside the house was majorly known for how he excelled in physical tasks.

Soundarya is a television actor and one of the finalists. Known for her cute quirks and expressions, along with her straightforward personality, Soundarya has a huge fan base. The actor also had proposed to Vishnu Vijay (former contestant) inside the house when the latter made an entry during friends and family visit. Soundarya is known for her web series Vera Maari Office.

Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8: Cash prize, voting results-everything you need to know

The title winner of Bigg Boss Season 8 will take home the coveted cash prize of Rs 40.5 lakhs. The prize amount had decreased after the last task that was kept inside the house where the contestants had to decide if they can risk the chance of elimination and bring money box inside the house within a stipulated time period. Muthukumaran won Rs 50,000, Pavithra Janani and Raayan bagged Rs 2 lakh each, while VJ Vishal won Rs 5 lakh.

As per reports, Muthukumaran is leading in the votes cast and is speculated to win the title. However, one has to wait and watch as anything can change in Bigg Boss. The premiere will begin streaming from 6pm onwards on Vijay Television and Disney+ Hotstar.
