The milestone 10th season of Bigg Boss Kannada was meant to be special for viewers – the showrunners promised 100 happy days. But from the time the contestants went into the house, the proceedings have been far from joyful. There’ve been fights galore, whether it was Vinay Gowda and Sangeetha Sringeri at each other’s throats, or Vinay joining Thukali Santosh and Snehith Gowda to bully Drone Pratap, among many others, the atmosphere inside the house has not been the most cordial. If the responses to the show on social media are anything to go by, Vinay is currently the most disliked contestant on Bigg Boss Kannada 10, but the fact that he’s still in the house is testimony that there is a populace that is in agreement with his ‘rude and egoistical’ behaviour.
Earlier today, actress Kaavya Shastry raised her voice against the emotional and verbal abuse of men and women on the show. In an Instagram post, she wrote, “I’m extremely upset about ow this season of Bigg Boss Kannada is all about bullying, disrespecting, emotionally/verbally abusing women or men. Parents with kids, I sincerely request you to not watch such shows in front of your children, as it can negatively impact and get deeply rooted in the subconscious minds of the lil ones”. Her post opened up a flood of responses, many of which were supportive of her thoughts, while others disagreed. But it got to a point that she was forced to disable commenting.
Vinay’s disparaging and misogynistic comments have not gone well with netizens too, most of who are hopeful that the actor will either be eliminated soon or be given a class in good behaviour by show host Kiccha Sudeep. Singer Aishwarya Rangarajan also posted writing, “I really hope Sudeep Sir questions Vinay this weekend.”
