In late August, when reports and rumours about Bigg Boss Kannada Season 11 began trickling in, there was a strong buzz that Kiccha Sudeep, who has been the host of the popular reality show since the beginning, would step down. However, a few days later, he was officially announced as the host of the 11th season, and all seemed to be well, with some netizens even commenting that Sudeep is the face of the show and will never leave it.

Well, turns out, that is not true. Sudeep will leave the show, albeit after the ongoing season, which is only a couple of weeks old now. The Kannada superstar took to social media to confirm this development, which has sparked further speculation about this sudden turn of events. What went wrong in only two weeks?
According to a post doing the rounds on social media, Sudeep has been unhappy about the way the showrunners are conducting Season 11, and not heeding his inputs. This was also heard during Season 10, when fans actively urged the actor to give up his hosting duties and focus on films instead.
Given that Sudeep has not had a theatrical film release since July 2022, and is more often seen either as part of cricket tournaments like KCC or CCL and then on Bigg Boss Kannada, fans have been unhappy that movies have taken a backseat. Sudeep himself has acknowledged that he was being referred to as a cricketer and not actor, which he was looking at remedying.
Ahead of his birthday in early September, Sudeep had stated that going forward, he was looking at working on multiple projects at the same time to ensure that his films release at regular intervals.
The big question now is, if not Sudeep, then who? Some of the names that have been doing the rounds include Ganesh, Ramesh Aravind, Shivarajkumar and Rishab Shetty. Online polls for the same have Ganesh as the frontrunner, followed closely by Rishab. In fact, these were the names that came up for Season 11 too. Since Ganesh and Ramesh already have shows that they are associated with, a fresh face like Rishab would actually make better sense.
He may also be done and dusted with Kantara: Chapter 1 by then, as it is said to be an August 2025 theatrical release.
