The actor-duo parted ways in 2016, after dating for seven years. However, their relationship became more scandalous when Singh was found dead in his apartment in Mumbai in 2020.
Even after four years of Sushant’s death, Ankita faces tremendous trolls and judgements on the internet. Fans of Sushant were even quite upset with Lokhande’s marriage with Vicky Jain in 2021, just a year after Singh's death. These online judgments seem to have shattered the 39-year-old actress throughout these years. The actress recently opened up about her relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput in an interview with Zoom.

When the interviewer asked her how difficult it is for an actor to deal with break-ups, the Bigg Boss 17 contestant shared that she only knows how much she loved the late actor. People may be trolling her, insulting her, but they have no clue how much she has been hurt after his death. According to Ankita, she felt helpless and did not want to share her side of the story, hence she stayed silent all these years.
The Manikarnika actress shared that she doesn't mind what people say. She ignores every judgement as much as possible. The only thing that helped her stay strong was her own family. They have been a pillar of support to her. She said, “If I'm loving someone, I do it wholeheartedly. I'm very confident about that ki mere jaise koi ho hi nahi sakti. I'm very confident about myself, so I never doubted my feelings. So, I was never curious about our break-up.”
“If someone wants go, they will go. You can't stop the person. But you have your life ahead,” Ankita further stated that after the break-up she decided to work for her family’s happiness and be there for them.
