Bigg Boss 16 was a big hit because of the 'mandali' group and two members especially were much loved. They were Shiv Thakare and Abdu Rozik, often called ShiBdu on the Salman Khan-hosted show and they had even worked on Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 together. Now, there’s news that they have been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case. The case is linked to alleged drug lord Ali Asghar Shirazi. Shiv, we hear, has already recorded his statement with the ED as a witness in the case.
According to a report on Free Press Journal, Ali had financed many startups, including that of Shiv and Abdu. Ali’s company Hustlers’ Hospitality Pvt. Ltd allegedly minted money by narco-funding the startups. As the name suggests, the company would fund various startups, including the ones founded by Abdu and Shiv. Now, it appears that the Bigg Boss 16 duo have terminated their contracts with the company after learning about the case.
Sources have shared that Shiv told ED that he met the director of Hustlers’ Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., Krunal Ojha, through an acquaintance in 2022-2023. Krunal had offered him a partnership and Shiv had agreed to it. The company had invested a huge amount in Thakare Chai and Snacks, founded by Shiv Thakare.
Shiv had started Thakare Chai and Snacks, which is, as the name suggests, from the food industry. It not only provides snacks but is also a restaurant.
Abdu, on the other hand, started a burger franchise, owing to his popularity with Burgiir dialogue on Bigg Boss 16. His burger brand is also called Burrgiir and many celebrities have graced the branch. Sonu Sood was among the guests at the opening ceremony of the eatery in early 2023.
