Bigg Boss 16 Weekend Ka Vaar: Sumbul Touqeer's father calls Shalin Bhanot out on ‘using’ his pure-hearted daughter

On the latest episode of Bigg Boss 16, the housemates are met with a special guest via video call. Sumbul Touqeer’s father caused the most recent explosion of the show as he berates Shalin Bhanot and Tina Datta for the way his daughter has been treated in the house. He appears to give Sumbul a reality check and to reveal the true nature of Shalin and Tina, who try to deny it. Her father’s confrontation leaves Sumbul in tears.

Sumbul’s father, Touqeer Hasan Khan talks to Sumbul about how pure-hearted she is, and how he fears people will keep taking advantage of it, as she cannot always see the true colours of certain aspects of the world, that go beyond appearances. Addressing Shalin, he expresses, “She is very pure-hearted. But what did you do? You should think that she is a young girl and she is hugging you on day one. You should have handled her that way, like a younger sister. But tumne tamasha bana diya uska (but you made a joke out of her). I didn’t expect you to behave this way.”

Turning to actor Tina Datta, Touqeer goes on, “You are such an experienced actor. I had thought you will handle her like a big sister. But you provoked Shalin and you told that story to everyone in the house. You never tried to talk to Sumbul.” Tina tries to deny the harsh accusations. Touqeer ends not only with a warning note for his daughter, to stop being so naive and see when she is being used, but also to let her know that whatever happens to her ends up hurting him too.

He presents Sumbul with a handwritten poem, incentivising her to snap back. When Shalin tries to interrupt, he is quieted by Salman Khan who tells him that he will be given a chance to speak later.

Sumbul is left completely shattered, and gets comforted by her housemates. Meanwhile, Shalin and Tina Datta slip away to the bathroom to discuss their innocence, and their concern for Sumbul’s reaction. As they did not expect to be confronted like that, Tina states, "Lag gaye humare toh ab"
