Bigg Boss 16 EXCLUSIVE! Shiv Thakare: I wish Salman Khan calls me to party & Karan Johar launches a common man like me

Bigg Boss Marathi 2 winner Shiv Thakare has entered Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 16 with huge hopes. The actor has been active on the TV front but is awaiting the release of his Marathi movie. Apart from that, he has a wish - to make it big in Bollywood and shake a leg with Salman, Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor.

OTTplay caught up with Shiv ahead of his Bigg Boss 16 stint and tried to understand what he has planned ahead. Excerpts...

From Bigg Boss Marathi to BB 16, tell me about your journey.

Bigg Boss Marathi 2 changed my life partly. Hopefully, Bigg Boss 16 will help change the other half of it.

Is this the first time that you were approached for the show? If yes, what made you say no back then?

Things are a little different with me. I don't know if they were going to approach me but I have been trying to get in since three-four years. So, you understand that I wanted to be a part of the show since a long time. Finally, I met with the makers and here we are.

I’m sure you would have followed Bigg Boss Hindi for a while now. What have been your views on Salman Khan’s show?

As an audience, I have followed the show, yes. It is all about having fun, which was also the case with Bigg Boss Marathi. You can go to all lengths but only to entertain people. I will do that, 200%.

Are you going with a plan? Maybe you want to rule over the kitchen or form a love angle or enmity. Do you want any such thing?

I will only react according to the other player's action. When I understand them and their intentions, then the audiences will see my reaction too. I could be someone's friend, love someone or even have enmity in the house. It all depends.

Has your personality changed since Bigg Boss Marathi 2? What would you say?

I haven't changed much as a person. Sure, I'm a little louder now and don't really have the concept of boundaries. So, I will also have fun with people in the house.

Bigg Boss goes to any and every length. Is there a task you would usually shy away from?

No, none of that. Just don't kill me. I can even give my kidney for a task.

There was another Bigg Boss Marathi contestant on BB 15, Abhijit Bichukale. What do you have to say about him?

Bichukale has a personality. People had fun, no matter how he was. It is okay till people get entertained.

What are you expecting from BB 16?

You know what will be different this time? Not only will Bigg Boss play but even a boy from Maharashtra named Shiv Thakare is participating on the show. You will have fun and so, you shouldn't miss watching this show.

What are your views on competing with Bigg Boss himself this time?

It's double the fun, right? What else do you need if someone as huge as Bigg Boss plays with you?

Being a reality show star yourself, would you say Bigg Boss helps in acting career?

That depends on your personality and how you work on yourself. I was zero and still have been offered a film in the Marathi film industry. The project was postponed because of COVID but let's do it. It has worked for me.

Where do you see yourself after the show ends?

I hope Karan Johar launches a common man called Shiv Thakare for the first time. Hopefully Ekta Kapoor will also cast me in two TV serials and Salman Khan will call me to his Panvel bungalow so that we can party together. This is my small wishlist.
