The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Big Ben, have dropped its trailer today (June 15). The thriller, which stars Anu Mohan, Vinay Forrt, Aditi Ravi, and Chandhunadh in lead roles, is slated to hit the big screen on June 28. Both the posters and trailer of the film confirm that it is based on real life incidents that happened in a Malayali family’s life caught up in legal intricacies in the UK.
The two-minute and 11-second clip shows Anu Mohan and Aditi Ravi portraying a couple who are searching desperately for their daughter, who went missing. Aditi is a nurse employed in the UK, whereas Anu seems to be a police officer in Kerala.
The cause of their toddler's disappearance will only become clear after the movie comes out, but it appears that Anu unintentionally becomes entangled in the nation's immigration laws, incurring severe legal repercussions. The trailer teases an intriguing thriller that is primarily filmed in different parts of the UK. In this film, Miya George and Chandhunadh also portray police officers.
Ben Augustine is the film's writer and director. Braintree Productions, run by Prajay Kamat, Eldo Thomas, and Siby Aranjany, have bankrolled Big Ben. The makers state that the movie revolves around the lives of Lovely and Jean Antony, a couple who reside in different countries. When Jean travels to Lovely in London with their 1.5-year-old daughter, they find themselves in a legal bind. The main plot point of the film is whether or not they will succeed in getting back together despite their lack of familiarity with the local laws.
If released on the said date, Big Ben will run in theatres along with Roshan Mathew’s Paradise and Dhyan Sreenivasan’s Partners. The supporting cast of the movie includes Vijay Babu, Miya George, Jaffer Idukki, Biju Sopanam, Nisha Sarang, Shebin Benson, Baby Hannah, and Bitu Thomas. Kailas Menon has composed the soundtracks for this project.
