Badhaai Do has been receiving many positive responses since the trailer's release, and Bhumi Pednekar is content with it. She plays the female lead in the Rajkummar Rao show. Reportedly, the movie deals with a queer story, which is sure to bring a new vision to the most sensitive subject in the country.

Pednekar is proud that filmmakers chose this different subject, which is clutter-breaking. She said she is happy to bring such a vision to life, as quoted by The Indian Express. “I thrive on pushing myself constantly,” said the actor. She also added that her decision to play the character was because she gets to give voice to an eye-opening subject.

Helmed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni, Badhaai Do is the spiritual sequence to the 2018 film Badhaai Ho. Rajkummar essays the role of a character who identifies himself as queer, while Bhumi is a PT teacher in the movie.

Spilling more beans, the actor affirmed that the movie balances commerce and content hand-in-hand. She also finds it exciting to be an actor in these times, as big producers are ready to back such subjects and are making efforts to create a change in society. Pednekar, as a human being, is drawn to ideas that strike a positive impact on people. She also prefers those themes which could be a "catalyst for social good". She concluded, hoping that Badhaai Do would do the same.

Meanwhile, the movie will hit theatres on February 11. It also features actors including Seema Pahwa, Sheeba Chaddha, Loveleen Mishra, and Nitesh Pandey. The comedy drama is backed by Junglee Pictures.
