From Rainbow Jelly to Rawkto Rawhoshyo – Soukarya Ghosal never fails to bring some elements of quirk to the screen. Bhootpori’s trailer is no different. Here, we have a quirky ghost, some eerie characters, and a spooky narration that sends out a vibe of excitement to his audience.

The trailer opens with Makhan, played by Ritwick Chakraborty, telling the story of Bonolota – a spirit who lives in the village – to a young boy. While her spirit lives there and scares people, she can’t really do any harm. According to an adage, she can only harm people if somebody dreams of her. If they do, she can make them work according to her wishes. But what happens when a ghost dies? “They become angels,” says Jaya in the trailer.

There is also a sense of an ominous history that engulfs that village. There are unexplained deaths and grim truths. Amid this, the young boy and the spirit of Bonolota become pally. The trailer also features a bevy of actors, including Shantilal Mukherjee, Sudipta Chakraborty, and others.

Produced by Surinder Films, Bhootpori will hit the theatres on February 9.
