After breaking his right leg in his Kolkata hotel room on February 10, Anees Bazmee had surgery the following day. The director chuckles when he recalls being back in his office on the morning of February 13, finalising plans for the March 10 shoot of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. According to the latest reports, the possibility of postponing filming of the Vidya Balan and Kartik Aaryan-starring film due to his health is completely out of the question.
Importance of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Anees Bazmee's dedication
When he twisted his leg, Bazmee told Mid Day that they were planning to travel to Kolkata the following day after going location hunting. The filmmaker would need more than three months to recuperate after plastering it. The director revealed that he decided to go through surgery to insert a steel plate so he could resume filming.
When it came out in 2022, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, starring Kartik as Rooh Baba—a man who claims to be able to converse with spirits—was an instant hit. Bazmee is now ready to get the third instalment of the horror comedy rolling. Upon the filmmaker injuring his leg, Kartik and producer Bhushan Kumar were deeply concerned. They informed him that he could reschedule the session if he desired. Bazmee told them they should proceed and firmly refused.
Vidya Balan's return and collaboration with Anees Bazmee
The filmmaker considers the third part particularly significant because it represents the return of Vidya, who originally played Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007). From the start, he was passionate about collaborating with her. Their relationship dates back to her cameo in Thank You (2011). Bazmee was pleasantly surprised by how enthusiastic she was to collaborate with him on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. She has a significant role in the film, and he can't say for sure at this time whether she will play Manjulika again. The goal is to make it larger and more impressive than the rest. Rooh Baba, Manjulika, and spirits all feature prominently in this eerie thriller. However, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3's Manjulika cast is a complete mystery.
Bazmee also cannot fathom Rooh Baba being with anybody other than Kartik, as he is an actor who specialises in working with directors. Here, they have excellent tuning in common. The filmmaker revealed that the actor was his friend during Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011). When he appreciates an actor's performance, he gives them a call. At that moment, Kartik was overjoyed that Bazmee had contacted him, and in this capacity, the actor excels.
