Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 star Kiara Advani: Will think twice before doing a remake

Kiara Advani is gearing up to be seen in one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which also stars Kartik Aaryan, is a standalone sequel to the 2007 Akshay Kumar starrer of the same name. Recently, Kiara has been seen talking about the process of remaking films, while she also revealed that she would think twice to do the remake of a movie if it's already available on an OTT platform.

During a group interview in which OTTplay was a part, Kiara said, "I don't agree with the fact that Bollywood's backing on South for content. I feel like sometimes a small film, which is like a gem that you make up from a certain language that that has the potential to probably reach a wider audience tends to be made in a language that you know, I mean, at the end of the day, Hindi is also so widely spoken over our country that we think why not, like make this film for a larger audience?"

Meanwhile, amid her statement on the topic, the Bollywood diva also urged to share her personal point of view on the same and said that she worked on the hit film Kabir Singh, which was a remake of the 2017 Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy, a long before OTT became a rage. "I feel today even I will think twice to do a remake if it's available on an OTT platform," she added. She further mentioned that she watches a lot of other language films on OTT and added that if someone is making an adaptation they make a few changes in their film. "At the end of the day, it's all about taking a good film to the larger audience," said the Laxmii actress.

Apart from Kiara and Kartik, the Anees Bazmee directorial also star Tabu in a major role and has Sanjay Mishra, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Angad Bedi, Manoj Joshi and others in supporting roles.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is slated to have a theatrical release on May 20.
