Bholaa: Tabu begins shooting for Hindi remake of Kaithi, also starring Ajay Devgn

Tabu took to Instagram today and revealed that she has begun shooting for Bholaa, the Hindi remake of Karthi's Tamil thriller Kaithi. The actor shared a picture of a clapboard with the film's title, and in the caption of her post wrote, "New beginnings."

Bholaa, which has Ajay Devgn as the protagonist, went on floors in January this year. However, Tabu's role in the film is yet to be known. 

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Kaithi saw Karthi play a prisoner on parole, who has to fight against time to get a group of poisoned cops to the hospital. 

Pinkvilla had previously reported that Bholaa will tell the story from a different perspective while keeping the crux of the original, the relationship between the criminal and a police officer, intact. The entertainment outlet also mentioned that the Hindi remake will be a "masala entertainer."

Bholaa is directed by Dharmendra Sharma, who has previously worked as an editor on films like Bhuj: The Pride of India, The Big Bull, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Total Dhamaal.

The writers are Shreedhar Dubey, Sandeep Kelwani, Aamil Keeyan Khan and Ankush Singh. Aseem Bajaj is the director of photography. It is produced by SR Prakashbabu and Reliance Entertainment.

Tabu and Devgn have previously starred in films like Haqeeqat (1994), Golmaal Again (2017) and De De Pyaar De (2019). 

Tabu was last seen in the 2020 comedy Jawaani Jaaneman. Her upcoming projects besides Bholaa include Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Bheeshma Parvam (Malayalam), Kuttey among others.
