Bholaa Shankar is Chiranjeevi's second release this year after Waltair Veerayya, directed by Meher Ramesh. The film is the Telugu remake of Vedalam produced by Anil Sunkara under AK Entertainments. Keerthy Suresh and Tamannaah Bhatia are cast as Chiranjeevi's on-screen sister and romantic interest respectively. The film is gearing up for a theatrical release on August 11.

Mahati Swara Sagar is composing the music for the film and three songs from the action entertainer are out already - Milky Beauty, Bholaa Mania, Jam Jam Jajjanaka. The teaser was also launched recently. With the film due for release in two weeks, Bholaa Shankar's trailer was launched by Ram Charan today.

"Happy to Release the Trailer of #BholaaShankar. Our Mega Star @KChiruTweets in his best forte in @MeherRamesh Stylish Mass Presentation!! Can't wait to witness his energy on the big screen on August 11th. Best wishes to the entire team," he wrote. The trailer promised a familiar cocktail of family sentiment, humour, action, dialogue-baazi and the song-dance routine.

While a few loyal fans of Chiranjeevi are satisfied, by and large, movie buffs are not happy with the trailer and called it too regular, outdated. A set of viewers weren't happy with the dialogues, the references to Ram Charan in a courtroom scene, background score and the comedy sequences. Some opined that the film will remind why Chiranjeevi needs to change his path in the second innings.

Sushanth, Raghu Babu, Murali Sharma, Ravi Shankar, Vennela Kishore, Tulasi, Sri Mukhi, Bithiri Sathi, Satya, Getup Srinu, Rashmi Gautam, Uttej play other pivotal roles in Bholaa Shankar. Marthand K Venkatesh is the editor while Dudley is the cinematographer.
