Bholaa Shankar is one of the biggest flops in Chiranjeevi's career. As the film is set to release on OTT, this is how much Netflix paid to bag the digital rights

Bholaa Shankar is Chiranjeevi's last release which was directed by Meher Ramesh. The film was made on a massive scale by producer Anil Sunkara. But sadly, the film failed to take off and ended as a disaster at the box office. Meher Ramesh directed this film which marked his comeback to direction after 12 long years. He was and is being brutally trolled for the film's failure at the box office.
We at OTTplay had already reported that Netflix had bought the digital rights of the film. Well, we have now come to know that the streaming giant paid a whopping Rs 38 crores to bag these rights. As the makers sold the nontheatrical rights for decent prices, they did not have that much of losses. But a number of distributors lost money in the amount of crores which is huge.
As per the update, Netflix had struck a deal when the film's shoot was done and Chiranjeevi's other film, Waltair Veerayya ended as a massive hit at the box office making over Rs 100 crores share hereby becoming one of the top ten hits in Telugu cinema.

As per the update, Bholaa Shankar will start streaming on September 15, 2023. As soon as the OTT release date went viral, trollers started targetting director Meher Ramesh once again for his poor execution.
Bholaa Shankar was special for many actors in the film. Happening TV anchors, Sreemukhi and Rashmi Gautam played small roles in the film and say that working with the likes of Chiranjeevi is the biggest dream come true moment for them.
Sai Pallavi was initially approached to play Chiranjeevi's sister but she rejected the role which eventually went to Keerthy Suresh. Tamannah Bhatia played the female lead in this film which made close to Rs 40 crore share in its full run worldwide.
