Saagar K Chandra's Bheemla Nayak, starring Pawan Kalyan and Rani Daggubati in lead roles, was dropped on Disney+ Hotstar and aha after its theatrical release in February this year. The movie's Tamil version is now set for a digital premiere. The dubbed version under the same title will be available on aha Tamil from September 7.

The announcement has been made on the occasion of Pawan Kalyan's birthday falling on September 2. The film is the official remake of acclaimed Mollywood project Ayyappanum Koshiyum which was released in 2020. Pawan and Rana essayed roles enacted by Biju Menon and Prithviraj respectively in the Mollywood version.

Though Hindi and Tamil versions of Ayyappanum Koshiyum were also under consideration by various filmmakers, only the Telugu version has been made till date. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj had recently revealed that he had the idea to make a Tamil version with Suriya and Karthi in lead roles.

Bheemla Nayak, which opened to decent reviews from critics and the audience, ended up as an average grosser at the box office, despite setting cash registers ringing on its first few days. Nithya Menen, Samuthirakani, Murali Sharma and Samyuktha Menon played pivotal roles in the movie which has cinematography by Ravi K Chandran and editing by Naveen Nooli.

The background score by Thaman was considered to be one of the highlights of the film which has been bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments. Though many opined that the movie managed to stay true to the original version, there were those who felt it couldn't weave the magic which was visible in Ayyappanum Koshiyum.

Bheemla Nayak was Pawan Kalyan's second outing in the pandemic era after Vakeel Saab. Interestingly, both the films were remakes, and had music composed by Thaman as its primary attraction.
