Bhavachitra OTT release date: When and where to watch Chakravarthy and Ganavi Laxman starrer mystery thriller

For a very long time, one of the common complaints among Kannada filmmakers was that OTT platforms seldom showed interest in films from Sandalwood. That, it would appear is changing, what with at least 4-5 films making it to OTT every month. In fact, one of the platforms that is stepping it up as far as Kannada content goes is Voot Select.

The streamer, which brought films like Badava Rascal, Neer Dose and Sold into its portfolio recently, is adding the Chakravarthy Reddy and Ganavi Laxman starrer Bhavachitra also this week. Starting May 6, the mystery thriller Bhavachitra, directed by Girish Kumar B, will be available to stream on the platform.

The plot of Bhavachitra follows Vishnu (played by Chakravarthy Reddy), a passionate photographer, who embarks on a solo trip after parting ways with his ladylove, Chitra (played by Ganavi Laxman). During his escapade, he sustains a minor injury, after which he begins to see some paranormal sights in his photographs. What happens next as he ends up in a remote village with an eeriness to it, forms the crux of the story.

Chakravarthy added, "Personally, I love watching thriller films, so when I was offered a role in one, I couldn't resist, and immediately said yes! When it comes to Bhavachitra, it is more than just a thriller film. It's a mystery thriller, complemented by some paranormal elements. I must admit, exploring the eerie world of Bhavachitra through the lens of Vishnu will forever remain an unforgettable experience of my life!"

Talking about the film, Ganavi shared, “Bhavachitra is a uniquely designed mystery thriller. As Chitra, I play the role of Vishnu’s love interest in the film. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed myself on the sets as I’ve never starred in a film like this before. I regard it as a thought-provoking experience of my life. With its premiere on Voot Select being just around the corner, I am sure that Bhavachitra will give viewers an edge-of-their-seat experience.”

Director Girish who also plays a pivotal role in the film, added, “This film is extremely close to my heart because I’ve not only directed it but also written it and starred in it. Scripting thrillers is a different ballgame altogether, it gives you the creative liberty to think out-of-the-box. Not everybody gets an opportunity to wear three hats. I consider myself fortunate to have had a talented cast and crew on-board that helped me bring this story to life efficiently. Lastly, I am ecstatic about Bhavachitra’s premiere on Voot Select. I hope the viewers enjoy this unusually entertaining and intriguing story.”
