Bhagyashree spills secrets about Salman Khan’s teasing on Maine Pyar Kiya set: 'I know who you're in love with!'

In 1989, Bhagyashree made her acting debut opposite Salman Khan in the critically acclaimed film Maine Pyar Kiya, directed by Sooraj Barjatya. During filming, the actors became close friends, which deepened when the superstar learnt about her romance with Himalaya Dasani, as Bhagyashree remembered in a recent interview. According to her, she mistook Salman's advances for an attempt at flirtation before realising he was teasing her about her boyfriend, Himalaya. The marriage between Bhagyashree and Himalaya took place not long after that.

Bhagyashree said that Salman came up to her during the filming of Dil Deewana and began singing the song in her ear in an interview that was uploaded to the YouTube channel of Kovid Gupta Films. The actor recalled that she never understood why he was always so cordial and polite to her on set. She said to Salman, "Why is he doing this?" because it felt like he was flirting too much.

Bhagyshree persisted in her perplexity about Salman's behaviour change; she mentioned that he would accompany her while singing the same song. He would trail behind her as he was out and about, singing the tune, and she remembers thinking, "What’s happening here?" Salman eventually stated, as he took her to the side, that he knows who she is in love with. When she questioned Salman about his knowledge, he immediately named Himalaya, as she recounted. He claimed that he is familiar with Himalaya. He asked her to call him to the shoot. She remembered thinking, "Oh my god! This can’t be happening."

Bhagyashree revealed that her connection with Salman took a unique turn following this event. Even though her family declined to attend the ceremony, the superstar and Barjatya were there to support her as she wed her soulmate. Salman became more like a trusted friend who knew everything and had all the secrets from that point on. They had a particular bond. She explained that her family hadn't been able to make it to the wedding; thus, Salman and Sooraj were the only attendees on her side.

The year 1990 saw the marriage of Bhagyashree and Himalaya. Their children, Abhimanyu and Avantika, are also actors.
