Those who know writer, director Anil Ravipudi from close quarters will be aware of the fact that he’s a terrific actor as well. The filmmaker, besides having a near 100% success track record (as a director), turned a host for aha’s stand up comedy show Comedy Stock Exchange, that was widely watched by streaming enthusiasts across the globe. He’s now joining forces with the platform for another OTT original.

Earlier this week, Anil Ravipudi surprised many by sharing an intriguing video on social media. While some opined that this could be the teaser of his small-budgeted film, some presumed that he’s trying his hand at acting. The video had Ravipudi addressing the camera, hinting at a major announcement and that he’s to start a new political party. Netizens were amused, wondering what was the director upto.
However, reports more or less confirm that the filmmaker is returning to the digital space for a politics-centric web original, for which he’s commenced shooting. The timing of the show is apt, given the election season in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the coming weeks. The creator, theme of the OTT show and its premiere date will be announced formally soon.
Meanwhile, the director is also awaiting the OTT premiere of his Dussehra release Bhagavanth Kesari, the action drama starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sreeleela and Kajal Aggarwal. The story revolves around how far a ex-cop, a foster father goes to safeguard a young girl. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the entertainer.
While another Dussehra film, Tiger Nageswara Rao, has arrived on Amazon Prime Video already, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film is expected to follow suit in the coming days. S Thaman scored the music for the actioner which had a stellar lineup comprising Sarath Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Ravi Shankar, Murali Goud. Tammiraju edited the film and C Ram Prasad cranked the camera.
