Best of 2023: From Sid-Kiara to Parineeti-Raghav and Swara-Fahad – stars who tied the knot this year

It was the year when Bollywood flaunted blushed Lehenga and cream sherwani from its wedding trousseau. From Swara Bhasker and Masaba Gupta’s bold weddings to Kiara Advani-Siddharth Malhotra’s dreamy and filmi nuptials and Lavanya Tripathi and Varun Tej’s intimate Italian wedding – the internet went ‘aww’ and lapped up their favourite star’s love story. Here is a lowdown on the weddings that melted our hearts.  

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra

Sid and Kiara posted their wedding pictures and literally melted the internet. They started dating since the time of Shershaah and after months of speculation, they tied the knot in Jaisalmer at Suryagarh Palace in a two-day gala event on February 7. The bride and groom looked picture perfect in pink lehenga and off-white sherwani. While the wedding was attended by their friends and family members, the gala reception took place in Mumbai where their Bollywood khandan was invited. 

Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul

Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul kickstarted the shaadi season of 2023. They got married on January 23 at Papa Suniel Shetty's Khandala farmhouse. Athiya looked gorgeous in a pink full-sleeve blouse and lehenga and the cricketer groom looked dapper in a cream sherwani. 

Masaba Gupta and Satyadeep Misra

Masaba and Satyadeep chose an intimate wedding right at the beginning of January. Both the bride and groom picked their wedding attire from the House of Masaba. Along with Neena Gupta and her husband Vivek Mehra, Masaba’s father Sir Vivian Richards was also present at the do.

Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmed

This is where Bollywood met Indian politics for the first time in 2023. Swara Bhasker is known to have a sharp political mind and she chose to have a politician, Fahad Ahmed of Samajwadi Party, as her life partner. She picked a red sari while Fahad twinned with her in a red jacket at their wedding.

Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chaddha

Parineeti and Raghav took the Bollywood-politics affair to the next level as they had their big fat Indian wedding in Udaipur. After getting engaged in May, the duo finally tied the knot in September. The nuptials were attended by their close friends and family members. While Priyanka Chopra attended her engagement, she had to give the wedding a miss. However, her mother Madhu Chopra attended the wedding. 

Parambrata Chatterjee and Piya Chakraborty

After speculation for years, Parambrata and Piya tied the knot on November 27. It was a quiet and private affair and just a registry marriage that was attended only by their immediate family members and close friends. Later in the evening, there was a slightly bigger gathering with some more friends and a lavish Bengali spread.   

Lavanya Tripathi and Varun Tej

Tollywood couple Lavanya and Varun tied the knot on November 1 in Italy. Their intimate Tuscany wedding took place at a lavish resort. Varun wore an ivory sherwani and Lavanya, a red sari with gold jewellery. Later, the couple posed with Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Chiranjeevi and the photo went viral in no time. 

Ashok Selvan and Keerthi Pandian

Tamil actor and actress Ashok and Keerthi have been dating for a couple of years and finally tied the knot on September 13. Their wedding was attended only by a few people – their family members and friends. They looked stunning in traditional attire in white and gold.
