If you were left awestruck by the teaser of Netflix's most-anticipated nine-part Tamil anthology Navarasa, the OTT platform has released a making video throwing light on the efforts that went behind it on Friday. The making video, titled 'Behind the Navarasas', visualised and directed by popular ad filmmaker Bharatbala, offers unique insights into the technicalities of the teaser shoot.
From the use of the BOLT camera in capturing the minutest details of the frames to how effortlessly actors like Siddharth, Parvathy, Vijay Sethupathi, Rohini, Bobby Simha, Suriya, Prakash Raj, Revathi, Delhi Ganesh and Prayaga Martin animatedly express the various 'navarasas' with the twinkle of an eye and subtle histrionics, the video makes for interesting viewing. Shifting back and forth between black-and-white and colour to highlight the making and the final result, the foot-tapping background score of the video is composed by A R Rahman.
The nine filmmakers who've directed a short each for the anthology include Arvind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Karthick Naren, Karthik Subbaraj, Priyadarshan, Rathindran Prasad, Sarjun, and Vasanth Sai. The cast and crew of Navarasa have worked for free while the monetary returns from the project will be utilised to help the film industry workers affected by the pandemic. Apart from A R Rahman, musicians, composers Karthik, Justin Prabhakaran, Govind Vasantha, KS Sundaramurthy have worked for Navarasa. The show releases on Netlix on August 6.
